This Akisu Lake print captures one of Hasui Kawase's most celebrated landscapes—a masterwork of the Shin-Hanga movement that brings Japanese serenity straight into your home. Kawase's talent lay in distilling nature's quietest moments into compositions of remarkable depth: mist rising from water, the interplay of light and shadow, the patience of traditional woodblock technique refined for the modern era. Every brushstroke speaks of craftsmanship that endured through decades.

We've reproduced it on 230gsm fine art paper using professional giclée printing and archival pigment inks, so the subtle gradations and colours remain fade-resistant for years to come. The matte finish eliminates glare and lets the composition breathe—no competing reflections, just the clarity Kawase intended.

Whether you're furnishing a bedroom with calming wall art or seeking a focal point for your living space, this print works in almost any room. Available in A4, A3, A2, A1, and larger formats, it can be hung unframed or paired with your choice of solid wood frames in black, white, natural oak, or gold ornate finishes. Order from our Newcastle shop and we'll dispatch it rolled and protected; free UK delivery on orders over £60.

Kawase's Lake Akisu invites you to pause each time you pass it—that rare kind of wall art that deepens the longer you look.

When you order a frame from us, it is professionally framed in our workshop and will arrive ready to hang on your wall. This makes them much stronger and resistant to warping like cheaper, MDF frames tend to.
