This Japanese landscape print captures Hasui Kawase's mastery of light and stillness—a dawn scene at Futamigaura rendered with the precision of his celebrated woodblock technique. The subtle palette of blues, greys and soft greens evokes the serene coastal beauty that made Kawase one of Japan's most revered landscape artists, and it translates beautifully onto our 230gsm fine art paper using archival pigment inks that resist fading for decades.

We print this on professional-grade matte paper that lets the delicate tonal gradations breathe without glare, giving you the calm, contemplative quality Kawase intended. The smooth finish brings out every nuance of the composition—the mist, the geometry of the shoreline, the stillness of dawn—making it equally at home in a bedroom, dining room or quiet corner where you want to pause.

This works brilliantly as part of a wider collection of vintage travel posters and Japanese art, or standing alone as a meditative focal point. Available in A4 through to A1, plus larger formats, it arrives rolled in a protective tube, ready to frame or display. If you'd like it framed, we offer solid wood frames in black, white, natural oak and gold finishes, all glazed and ready to hang—just choose at checkout.

Ink & Drop has been selling wall art from Newcastle for over a decade, and this Hasui print is one of those pieces that rewards daily looking, its quietness becoming more restorative the longer you live with it.

When you order a frame from us, it is professionally framed in our workshop and will arrive ready to hang on your wall. The frame itself is a minimal, square black frame, 20mm wide to suit any interior style. There is a visible wood grain as they are made from real wood. This makes them much stronger and resistant to warping like cheaper, MDF frames tend to.
