This is Hasui Kawase's Morning Sea, a woodblock print that captures the quiet drama of dawn breaking over Japanese waters. The composition is characteristically restrained—a few boats, a stretch of shoreline, and that particular quality of light that only exists in the first hours of daylight. It's the kind of print that rewards a lingering glance.

We've reproduced it on 230gsm fine art paper using professional giclée printing and archival pigment inks, so the subtle gradations of colour and tone stay true to the original. Available in A4, A3, A2, A1, 50x70cm and 70x100cm, it scales beautifully across any wall. Each print arrives rolled in a protective tube, ready to frame or display as you wish.

Pair it with our solid wood frames—black, white, natural oak or gold ornate—for a gallery-ready piece that needs nothing more than hanging. It settles into bedrooms, kitchens and living spaces with equal ease, bringing that unhurried Japanese aesthetic wherever it goes.

When you order a frame from us, it is professionally framed in our workshop and will arrive ready to hang on your wall. The frame itself is a minimal, square black frame, 20mm wide to suit any interior style. There is a visible wood grain as they are made from real wood. This makes them much stronger and resistant to warping like cheaper, MDF frames tend to.
