Martin Johnson Heade captured something rare here: a moment of genuine quietude. The haywagon sits silhouetted against a luminous sky, while the sun bleeds soft amber and rose across the horizon. It's the kind of scene that makes you pause, even if you're just passing through on your way to bed.

We've printed this on 230gsm fine art paper using professional giclée techniques and archival pigment inks, so the subtle gradations in that sky won't fade. Choose from seven sizes—A4 through to 70x100cm—depending on your wall and your mood. Add a solid wood frame in black, white, natural oak, or gold ornate if you'd like it ready to hang straight away.

Works beautifully in bedrooms and kitchens where you want a bit of contemplative warmth. Prints arrive rolled in a protective tube and ship free across the UK.

When you order a frame from us, it is professionally framed in our workshop and will arrive ready to hang on your wall. This makes them much stronger and resistant to warping like cheaper, MDF frames tend to.
