Hasui Kawase's May Rain at Ara River is a masterclass in restraint. Rain-soaked banks, a solitary figure with umbrella, and those characteristically calm waters—it's the kind of print that whispers rather than shouts. We've reproduced it on 230gsm fine art paper using professional giclée printing and archival pigment inks, so the subtle gradations and soft mists stay true to Kawase's original vision.

Available in seven sizes from A4 right up to 70x100cm, this works equally well tucked into a bedroom wall art print or given pride of place in a dining room or hallway. Printed unframed and rolled in a protective tube, it travels safely from our Newcastle studio, with free UK delivery on orders over £60.

Pair it with one of our solid wood frames—black, white, natural oak, or gold ornate—and it's ready to hang straight away. Whether you're building a gallery wall of Japanese woodblock prints or letting this one stand alone, its rain-misted serenity lingers in a way that demands quiet attention.

When you order a frame from us, it is professionally framed in our workshop and will arrive ready to hang on your wall. The frame itself is a minimal, square black frame, 20mm wide to suit any interior style. There is a visible wood grain as they are made from real wood. This makes them much stronger and resistant to warping like cheaper, MDF frames tend to.
