Hasui Kawase's rain-soaked street scene is a masterclass in atmosphere. Soft lamplight pools on wet pavements, and there's that distinctly Japanese sense of quiet contemplation that draws you in—the sort of bedroom wall art that makes you pause on your way past. This woodblock design has travelled nearly a century without losing an ounce of its mood.

We've printed it on 230gsm fine art paper using archival pigment inks and professional giclée techniques, so the delicate tones stay faithful to the original. Pick from seven sizes—A4 through to our largest 70x100cm format—and it arrives rolled safely in a protective tube, dispatched from Newcastle. Add one of our solid wood frames in black, white, natural oak, or gold ornate, and you've got a glazed, ready-to-hang piece.

It works beautifully in kitchens and dining rooms too, but there's something about rain-soaked streets that settles a bedroom perfectly, lending that contemplative calm without a trace of sentimentality.

When you order a frame from us, it is professionally framed in our workshop and will arrive ready to hang on your wall. The frame itself is a minimal, square black frame, 20mm wide to suit any interior style. There is a visible wood grain as they are made from real wood. This makes them much stronger and resistant to warping like cheaper, MDF frames tend to.
