This rain-soaked landscape captures Hasui Kawase at his most atmospheric—a defining work of shin-hanga printmaking where solitary figures move through weather-softened scenery. The composition hinges on those distinctive blues and greys that made him a master of mood, with rain sheets creating an intimate, unsentimentalised moment that rewards a long look.

We've printed it on 230gsm fine art paper using archival pigment inks, so the delicate gradations and atmospheric detail remain faithful to the original. It's available from A4 right through to A1, plus larger formats if you want the rain to truly settle across your wall. The print arrives rolled in a protective tube, ready for framing—or pair it with one of our solid wood frames in black, white, natural oak or gold ornate for an instant gallery finish.

Perfect for bedroom wall art or dining spaces where contemplative moments matter, this print sits comfortably alongside other Japanese art prints that trade spectacle for subtlety. It's for people who notice the weather and understand why an artist might spend hours capturing the exact moment rain obscures a mountain.

When you order a frame from us, it is professionally framed in our workshop and will arrive ready to hang on your wall. The frame itself is a minimal, square black frame, 20mm wide to suit any interior style. There is a visible wood grain as they are made from real wood. This makes them much stronger and resistant to warping like cheaper, MDF frames tend to.
