The Thurston the Great Magician print brings the golden age of stage magic to your wall. This vintage-style theatre poster shows a dapper magician in white tie and tails, wand in hand, presiding over a spectacular illusion, with the bold billing "The Wonder Show of the Universe" across the top.

Look closely and the detail is wonderful. Mischievous little red imps swing from golden curtained frames labelled "Empty", "Marvellous Production" and "Vanished", while a girl in jewelled Eastern costume leads a grey donkey up the steps beside her. A turbaned assistant guides the animal from behind, and a magician's urn sits at the centre of the stage. The caption at the foot, "Balaam and his Donkey: a boy, donkey and girl appear and vanish several times in different parts of the theatre", tells the story of the trick. The palette of deep blues, warm golds and bright reds, with swirling smoky clouds and ornate Egyptian-style columns, gives the whole piece the drama of a Victorian and Edwardian variety bill.

When you order a frame from us, it is professionally framed in our workshop and will arrive ready to hang on your wall. This makes them much stronger and resistant to warping like cheaper, MDF frames tend to.
