The Romeo and Juliet (1903) print brings a piece of theatrical history to your wall. Styled as a classic vintage theatre poster, it announces "Shakespeare's Sublime Tragedy" in elegant, hand-lettered capitals, with a full all-star cast list billed beneath the title. It is a romantic, literary and decorative piece in one.

The artwork is framed by a richly ornamental art nouveau header: two serene, garlanded faces flank a central skull wreathed in roses, with crossed swords and swagged ribbons hanging either side, and two interlocked hearts at the centre. That mix of love and death sums up the play perfectly. The palette is warm and restrained, with burnt orange, cream and soft gold set against a deep olive-green background, giving the poster a rich, antique feel. Every detail, from the tapering lettering to the decorative Liebler & Co. managers' cartouche at the foot, rewards a closer look.

When you order a frame from us, it is professionally framed in our workshop and will arrive ready to hang on your wall. This makes them much stronger and resistant to warping like cheaper, MDF frames tend to.
