Add 4 21x30cm Prints to your cart, and we'll add 4 frames absolutely FREE!

This 1888 Brooklyn Fire Insurance Map captures New York at a turning point, when fire insurers commissioned meticulous drawings of every street, block and building in the city. It's urban archaeology on paper—precise, layered, and endlessly absorbing if you're drawn to the intricate bones of historical cities.

We've printed it on 230gsm fine art paper using professional giclée printing and archival pigment inks, so the colours remain true for decades. The fine detail really sings at larger sizes, whether you choose A4 or go up to our 70x100cm option. Each viewing reveals new layers in the map's intricate street grid and building footprints.

It works equally well as a standalone piece in a study, hallway or office, or paired with other vintage map prints for a gallery wall. Add a frame in black, white, natural oak or gold ornate, and we'll glaze and hang it ready to display. Without framing, it ships rolled in a protective tube from our Newcastle workshop, with free UK delivery over £60. This map rewards the kind of unhurried looking that turns walls into windows onto another era.

When you order a frame from us, it is professionally framed in our workshop and will arrive ready to hang on your wall. The frame itself is a minimal, square black frame, 20mm wide to suit any interior style. There is a visible wood grain as they are made from real wood. This makes them much stronger and resistant to warping like cheaper, MDF frames tend to.
