This Nakayama Plain woodblock print by Hasui Kawase captures the quiet essence of rural Miyagi Prefecture with characteristic restraint. The composition breathes—minimal yet complete—inviting contemplation rather than demanding attention. It's the kind of work that settles into a space and improves it without shouting.

We've reproduced it on 230gsm fine art paper using archival pigment inks, so it holds its delicate tones and detail across all seven sizes: from A4 right up to the commanding 70x100cm. Whether you're framing a small hallway moment or creating a gallery-wall anchor, the print scales beautifully. Explore more works in our collection of traditional Japanese art prints to discover similar pieces with that same understated elegance.

Pair it with one of our solid wood frames—natural oak suits the Japanese aesthetic particularly well—and it arrives glazed and ready to hang. Unframed, it rolls safely in a protective tube and ships from Newcastle. As a bedroom wall art print above a desk, or anchoring a minimalist dining space, this Hasui work brings serene authority without ever needing to raise its voice.

When you order a frame from us, it is professionally framed in our workshop and will arrive ready to hang on your wall. The frame itself is a minimal, square black frame, 20mm wide to suit any interior style. There is a visible wood grain as they are made from real wood. This makes them much stronger and resistant to warping like cheaper, MDF frames tend to.
