Animal Prints

Fox, stag, and owl prints are the most consistently popular animal art choices for UK living rooms. They suit neutral palettes and natural materials — linen, wood, stone — that characterise many British living room schemes. A large stag portrait above a fireplace or a framed fox print on a hallway wall are classic combinations. For something more distinctive, animal head character prints are the highest-impact alternative.

Animal head character prints place animal heads onto human bodies in formal, historical, or unexpected settings — a bear in Victorian dress, a fox at a writing desk, a stag in military uniform. The style sits between surrealism and maximalism, creating prints that are immediately distinctive and consistently start conversations. They're one of our most popular and recognisable styles, particularly in eclectic home offices, living rooms, and hallways.

Yes — the key is the style of animal print. Vintage natural history illustration in a clean format, contemporary animal portrait photography, and graphic animal designs all suit modern interiors. Traditional painted wildlife illustration with an ornate quality suits country and classic interiors more. Animal head character prints work in modern interiors when the rest of the room has an eclectic or maximalist quality.

Animal portrait prints benefit from scale — a fox or stag at 50x70cm or 70x100cm has the presence to work as a proper focal point. At smaller sizes, portrait detail can be lost. For wildlife illustration sets and natural history prints, 30x40cm and 40x50cm work well as grouped pieces. Animal head character prints at 50x70cm and above give the most impact — the detail and character in the imagery rewards being seen properly.

Yes — we have animal prints in bright, simple styles suited to nurseries and children's rooms, as well as the more detailed illustration styles for older children and teens. For very young children, simple animal shapes in bold colour work best. Vintage natural history illustration suits older children with an interest in nature. Animal character prints are popular in children's rooms for their playful, imaginative quality.
