Hasui Kawase's Sanpoji Pond is a masterclass in restraint—a composition that finds drama in stillness and colour in simplicity. This woodblock print captures a moment of quiet contemplation, rendered in soft blues and muted tones that feel both centuries old and entirely contemporary. It's the kind of image that rewards a long look, and sits comfortably alongside other Japanese art prints that prioritise mood over decoration.

We've reproduced this print on 230gsm fine art paper using professional giclée printing and archival pigment inks, so it'll hold its colour and character for years. Available in seven sizes from A4 right up to 100x70cm, you can fit it into a modest hallway or make it the focal point of your bedroom wall art or dining space. All our prints arrive rolled safely in a protective tube, dispatched from our Newcastle workshop.

Prefer it framed? We offer solid wood frames in black, white, natural oak and gold ornate finishes, all glazed and ready to hang straight from the box. Displayed alone or as part of a gallery arrangement, Sanpoji Pond's restrained palette and monumental calm make it the perfect counterpoint to busier spaces or busier lives.

When you order a frame from us, it is professionally framed in our workshop and will arrive ready to hang on your wall. The frame itself is a minimal, square black frame, 20mm wide to suit any interior style. There is a visible wood grain as they are made from real wood. This makes them much stronger and resistant to warping like cheaper, MDF frames tend to.
