This crocodile and tortoises illustration captures the magic of early 20th-century Russian children's book art, rendered by Elena Pavlovna Gertik with that rare combination of naturalism and gentle humour. The soft blues and warm ochre tones give it a timeless quality that feels equally at home in a nursery or a grown-up living room—proof that the best vintage animal prints transcend age entirely.

Gertik's work was beloved across Russia for its meticulous detail and charm, and this reproduction does full justice to the original. We've printed it on 230gsm fine art paper using archival pigment inks, so the delicate linework and subtle colour shifts remain crisp and fade-resistant for decades to come.

Choose from A4 up to our largest formats, and pair it with a solid wood frame—black, white, natural oak or gold ornate—or leave it unframed. It works beautifully as part of a gallery wall of nursery art, or displayed solo as a focal point. Dispatched rolled and protected from our Newcastle studio, with free UK delivery over £60. The soft palette and gentle subjects make this print feel like a treasured heirloom that's just arrived from a dusty Russian library.

When you order a frame from us, it is professionally framed in our workshop and will arrive ready to hang on your wall. This makes them much stronger and resistant to warping like cheaper, MDF frames tend to.
