The General Mike print is a darkly witty portrait of a pale-masked officer, painted in the grand tradition of a formal military portrait. Standing tall in a black braided dress uniform with a crimson sash, he gazes out with hollow, expressionless eyes, a figure that is equal parts regimental pride and horror-movie menace.

What makes the artwork so striking is the contrast between its serious setting and its unsettling subject. Behind the figure, a soft, painterly English landscape of sweeping clouds and heavy trees fades into shadow, while a ceremonial sword, a feathered cap and white gloves rest at the edge of the frame. The palette is moody and rich: deep blacks and charcoal greys, a vivid flash of red at the waist, and the ghostly white of the mask drawing the eye straight to the face. Fans of horror will love the nod to a certain famous night in October, and art lovers will appreciate the polished, gallery-style execution.

When you order a frame from us, it is professionally framed in our workshop and will arrive ready to hang on your wall. This makes them much stronger and resistant to warping like cheaper, MDF frames tend to.
