Quirky Prints

Not all wall art needs to be beautiful in the conventional sense — some of the best prints are funny, strange, unexpected, or deliberately silly. Quirky prints are for people who want their walls to reflect their personality, their sense of humour, and their refusal to take interior design too seriously.

What Makes a Print Quirky?

Quirky is a genuinely useful category in interior design — it describes something that is deliberately off-beat, that subverts expectations, that makes you do a double-take. Quirky prints might be:

  • Visually unexpected — an ordinary subject rendered in an unexpected style, or an unexpected subject in a classical style. A tiger in a business suit. A skull made of flowers. A formal portrait of a cat.
  • Genuinely funny — a visual pun, a well-timed caption, or a piece of wit that lands on the wall and keeps delivering.
  • Self-aware — prints that reference their own status as wall art, or that play with the conventions of the medium.
  • Lovably odd — surreal illustration, bizarre juxtapositions, or subject matter that is simply unusual.

Quirky Prints as Gifts

Quirky prints are among the best gift options in the collection — they are personal, they show that the giver paid attention, and they are consistently more memorable and appreciated than conventional gift choices. A funny print that suits the recipient's specific sense of humour is a far more thoughtful gift than flowers or a generic candle.

Sizes and Framing

Quirky prints are available in seven sizes from 21x30cm to 100x150cm, framed or unframed. All produced on 230gsm matte art paper with archival inks.

What makes a print "quirky"?

Quirky prints are defined by their willingness to be unexpected, funny, or strange. They might subvert a familiar subject (a formal portrait of an animal, a classical painting with a modern punchline), make a genuine visual joke, or simply explore an unusual subject or juxtaposition. The defining quality is personality — a quirky print tells you something about the person who chose it.

Are quirky prints suitable for all rooms?

Quirky prints suit any room but are particularly effective in kitchens, bathrooms, home offices, and hallways — spaces where a touch of personality and humour feels most at home. In living rooms, a single quirky print among more conventional art adds a note of character that elevates the whole room. In bathrooms, a funny print makes a surprisingly strong impression on guests.

Are funny and quirky prints good gifts?

Yes — quirky and funny prints are consistently among the best-received gifts in the Ink & Drop range. A print that matches the recipient's specific sense of humour shows genuine attention and is far more personal than a conventional gift. They are particularly popular as birthday gifts, housewarming presents, and any occasion where you want to give something memorable.
