This antique world map by Abraham Ortelius is one of history's most celebrated cartographic works. Created in 1570, it's a window into Renaissance geography—the kind of piece that rewards close looking, with its ornate borders, hand-coloured details, and the worldview of an age when exploration was remaking everything. Ortelius, a Brabantian cartographer and pioneering atlas-maker, crafted something that's as beautiful as it is historically significant.

Printed on 230gsm fine art paper using archival pigment inks, this reproduction will hold its colour for decades without fading. We offer it across six sizes, from A4 right up to our expansive 70x100cm format, so whether you're looking for something intimate or a statement-making centrepiece, there's a scale that fits. It arrives rolled in a protective tube, dispatched from our Newcastle workshop, ready to frame or hang as-is.

Add a solid wood frame—black, white, natural oak, or gold ornate finishes—to transform it into a ready-to-hang piece that needs nothing more than a wall hook. Browse our full range of historical and vintage map prints for more cartographic treasures. This map strikes that rare balance between scholarly substance and visual warmth, making it equally at home above a desk or as the anchor of a gallery wall.

When you order a frame from us, it is professionally framed in our workshop and will arrive ready to hang on your wall. This makes them much stronger and resistant to warping like cheaper, MDF frames tend to.
