This vintage poster from Queen City Printing Inks showcases the distinctive style of Augustus Jansson, whose bold, stylised illustrations dominated early advertising. Dating back to 1863, the figure in brown captures that era's commitment to craftsmanship—the vibrant colours were as much a testament to ink quality as they were to artistic vision. It's a piece of printing history, rendered in full detail on our 230gsm fine art paper using archival pigment inks that'll resist fading for decades.

Whether you're after authentic retro charm for a living room or hunting for something with genuine character, this poster delivers without the kitsch. The composition works beautifully across all our sizes, from A4 up to our largest 70x100cm format, so you can scale it to suit your space. Pair it with one of our solid wood frames—black, white, natural oak, or gold ornate—and you've got something gallery-ready.

We've been selling wall art online for over a decade from our Newcastle base, and this remains a perennial favourite. Browse the full Queen City Printing Inks collection to discover more from Jansson's archive, or check out our recommended prints for similar gems. All prints arrive rolled in a protective tube, ready to unframe or frame at checkout, with free UK delivery on orders over £60.

When you order a frame from us, it is professionally framed in our workshop and will arrive ready to hang on your wall. This makes them much stronger and resistant to warping like cheaper, MDF frames tend to.
