Hasui Kawase's Red Temple captures the artist's mastery of light and atmosphere in early 20th-century Japan. This woodblock print depicts a sacred temple rendered in muted reds and soft greys, a serene meditation on space and stillness that feels as relevant to a modern wall as it did a century ago. We've printed it on 230gsm fine art paper using archival pigment inks, so the delicate tonality stays faithful to the original for decades to come.

The composition works beautifully in most rooms—it's minimal enough for bedroom wall art that won't overwhelm, yet substantial enough to anchor a living space or dining area. Kawase's restraint with colour means it pairs well with existing décor rather than demanding attention.

Available unframed from A4 to A1, or framed in solid wood finishes if you'd prefer it ready to hang. We've been selling vintage travel posters and antique Japanese prints from Newcastle for over a decade, and this quietly resolves the tension between gallery-quality reproduction and genuine affordability. It's the kind of print you'll still want to look at in five years.

When you order a frame from us, it is professionally framed in our workshop and will arrive ready to hang on your wall. This makes them much stronger and resistant to warping like cheaper, MDF frames tend to.
