This seventeenth-century map captures Europe in all its hand-coloured glory. Matthäus Merian's cartography is a masterclass in Renaissance aesthetics—intricate borders, flourished typography, and ornamental illustrations that transform mere geography into art. It's the sort of map that invites you to trace imaginary journeys with your finger, whether you're drawn to vintage map prints for their historical charm or their graphic appeal.

Printed on 230gsm fine art paper using archival pigment inks, the colours remain vibrant and faithful to the original for decades. We offer it in six sizes, from A4 right up to 70x100cm, so whether you're furnishing a study corner or commanding an entire wall, there's a scale that works.

Add a frame at checkout—solid wood in black, white, natural oak, or gold ornate finishes—and it arrives glazed and ready to hang. It ships rolled in a protective tube from our Newcastle studio, with free UK delivery on orders over £60. Hung alone or layered into a gallery wall, this intricately detailed European cartography becomes an instant conversation starter.

When you order a frame from us, it is professionally framed in our workshop and will arrive ready to hang on your wall. The frame itself is a minimal, square black frame, 20mm wide to suit any interior style. There is a visible wood grain as they are made from real wood. This makes them much stronger and resistant to warping like cheaper, MDF frames tend to.
