The Peacock Styles – Anchor Buggy Co. print is a vintage peacock poster in the grand tradition of late-Victorian trade advertising. A magnificent peacock stands front and centre, tail fanned wide in a great circle of emerald feathers, while four elegant horse-drawn buggies are drawn into the corners of the composition.

What makes the design so special is its sheer exuberance. Every feather is rendered with a glowing blue-and-gold eye, set against a warm lemon-yellow background that fades to soft peach at the base. A pink scrolled cartouche carries the "Peacock Styles" headline in bold blue lettering, while chunky red display type announces Anchor Buggy Co., with its Cincinnati office and Storrs, Ohio factory. It is chromolithographic showmanship at its best: a clever pairing of a showy bird with showy carriages, designed to stop passers-by in their tracks. The hand-drawn lettering, anchor motifs and ornate flourishes give it a wonderful sense of period character, and the bold colour blocking makes it feel as fresh on a wall today as it did over a century ago.

When you order a frame from us, it is professionally framed in our workshop and will arrive ready to hang on your wall. This makes them much stronger and resistant to warping like cheaper, MDF frames tend to.
