Sea Creature Prints

The ocean contains the most visually extraordinary creatures on earth — and sea creature prints bring that strangeness and beauty to your walls. From the sinuous elegance of an octopus to the ethereal glow of a jellyfish, marine life art captures subjects that have fascinated artists and naturalists for centuries.

Sea Creature Art Styles

• Vintage natural history illustration — 18th and 19th century naturalist illustration of marine life. Shaw and Nodder, and other natural history publications, produced extraordinary fish, crustacean, and sea creature plates with the same precision they applied to terrestrial animals.
• Scientific and educational prints — detailed marine biology illustration in the tradition of vintage educational charts and zoological publications.
• Contemporary marine illustration — bold, graphic illustration of sea creatures in modern styles. Particularly popular are octopus illustration (one of the most visually compelling of all marine subjects) and jellyfish art.
• Photographic marine art — underwater photography and close-up marine photography rendered as large-format art prints.

Popular Marine Subjects

The most popular sea creature subjects in the collection include octopus and squid; jellyfish; whales (particularly the blue whale and humpback); seahorses; sea turtles; tropical fish; and sharks. Use the search function to find a specific species.

For Coastal Interiors and Bathrooms

Sea creature prints are particularly effective in coastal and nautical-themed interiors and in bathrooms, where the marine subject matter creates a natural, immersive atmosphere. A group of sea creature prints in matching frames is a classic bathroom gallery wall treatment.

Sizes and Framing

Sea creature prints are available in seven sizes from 21x30cm to 100x150cm, framed or unframed. All produced on 230gsm matte art paper with archival inks.
